UA Establishes Transportation Research Institute
May 30, 2016
Building off the success of the Advanced Traffic and Logistics Algorithms and Systems center, the University of Arizona is bringing together an interdisciplinary team of researchers to address the many challenges of a rapidly evolving "transportation ecosystem." AzTRI, operating under the Office for Research & Discovery, includes faculty and staff from almost every college on campus.
Among them is professor Larry Head, who offers expertise in traffic signal control, traffic flow theory and connected vehicle technology. He says he expects the institute will be “a significant player in transportation research.”
