Professor K. Larry Head has been selected as the 2016 College of Engineering da Vinci Fellow, recognizing his excellence in research and teaching.

On March 17, the traffic systems expert and his graduate students took first responders, transportation officials and high school students on a bus ride at the Arizona Connected Vehicle Test Bed in Anthem to show them the potential of vehicle-to-infrastructure and vehicle-to-vehicle communications. Video is available at AZFamily.com, and more information is available on YourWestValley.com.

Head will use his award to expand students’ research opportunities and the UA’s reputation as a major center for transportation research.
