Hongyue Jin Promoted to Associate Professor with Tenure
The Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering proudly announces the promotion of Hongyue Jin to the rank of associate professor with tenure. Jin, previously an assistant professor, has made significant contributions in techno-economic analysis, life cycle assessment and optimization for sustainability. Her research, particularly in the areas of clean energy technologies and the recovery of critical materials, has been pivotal in advancing sustainable engineering practices.
Jin holds a PhD in industrial engineering from Purdue University and both MS and BS degrees in industrial and systems engineering from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology. Among other accolades, Jin won the College of Engineering’s Peterson Family Outstanding Early Career Faculty Award in 2023 and was named a Woman of Impact by the University of Arizona in 2022.
In addition to her academic roles, Jin is actively involved in professional communities. She serves as the deputy lead for crosscutting research focus area at the Critical Materials Innovation Hub, a national clean energy effort funded by the U.S. Department of Energy. She is also the founder and co-editor-in-chief of the Journal of Clean Technologies & Recycling and an associate editor for the INFORMS Journal of Operations Research.
