SIE Student On Award-Winning Design Day Team
May 11, 2023
Systems engineering student Abdullah Albar was part of one of the highest awarded teams at the College of Engineering's 2023 Craig M. Berge Design Day. Team 23017 won the $5,000 Raytheon Technologies Award for Best Overall Design for their Automated Universal Part Singulator.
The AUPS consists of a cartesian robot, a high resolution camera, a gripping mechanism and a vibrating table. The system can automatically sort parts based on their shape and size. It is designed to operate in an enclosed factory floor environment and is therefore shielded from external interference with a metal frame and acrylic walls.
