Lin Discusses Supply Chain Issues on Arizona Science Podcast
SIE professor Wei Lin recently appeared on the Arizona Public Media podcast Arizona Science to discuss the ongoing global supply chain problems.
Lin researches traffic flow modeling, information technologies in transportation, and transportation data analysis. He previously earned a National Science Foundation grant for a voting-based approach to data acquisition for traffic management systems.
"For supply chain, we look into the coordination and integration of the production, inventory control, and also distribution. Usually speaking of supply chain, people just think of the movement of goods, but it goes beyond that," Lin said. "You can think about warehouse operations, and that even has bottlenecks here and there. We have to consider the whole picture."
