Celik with adviser Young-Jun Son in 2009
Nurcin Celik, a 2010 graduate of the University of Arizona systems and industrial engineering PhD program under the supervision of professor Young-Jun Son, was a 2017 recipient of a Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers – the highest honor bestowed by the U.S. government on science and engineering professionals in the early stages of their independent research careers.
Celik, who studies dynamic data-driven application simulation, electric utility resource planning, and social network modeling and analysis, is currently an associate professor at the University of Miami.
