Ricardo Valerdi's Year a Home Run
SIE associate professor Ricardo Valerdi has, over the last year, brought home myriad honors and accomplishments.
He was inducted into the Academy of Engineering of Mexico, an organization with fewer than 1,000 members. Valerdi stands as one of only 25 academy members who are U.S. citizens.
This year, Valerdi was also named the UA’s PAC-12 and NCAA faculty athletics representative, was featured on the Discovery Canada segment, “Who Calls Strikes Better? Robots or Umpires?” and achieved national reach with his Science of Sports Program.
Valerdi also wrote an article for the Journal of Cost Analysis and Parametrics and presented to audiences at the U.S. News STEM Solutions National Leadership Conference.
