Neng Fan and His Group Are Making A Splash

Dr. Neng Fan’s group (3 PhD and 2 MS students) works on several optimization directions, such as multilevel programming, stochastic and large-scale optimization, and integer programming, and numerous applications, including energy and water systems, network design, manufacturing planning, and biomedical engineering.  In July 2014, Dr. Fan, with Dr. Son along with several graduate students, directed a successful Engineering Research Summer Program for eight students coming from Instituto Tecnológico de Hermosillo (ITH) on Math, Modeling and Industrial Applications. Dr. Fan continues his collaborations with Los Alamos, Sandia, and Argonne national laboratories.
