Assistant Professor Roberto Furfaro and his team are going to the heavens and back with OSIRIS-REx.
The goal of the OSIRIS-REx mission is to study an asteroid before scooping up a sample and returning to Earth. This is the first time a US mission will accomplish an asteroid sample return.
Furfaro and his team are handling the ground systems engineering for OSIRIS-REx.
The spacecraft is set to launch in September 2016.
