Health Care Industry Leader Landis Receives Alumni of the Year Award

Ted Landis, center, accepts his award from SIE department head Young-Jun Son and last year's Alumni of the Year Award winner Cindy Klingberg.

UA alumnus Ted Landis earned his Bachelor of Science in systems and industrial engineering in 1990, which made for a triumphant return on May 11 when he received his Alumni of the Year Award.

In keeping with the tradition of the award, Landis accepted the honor at the SIE precommencement event from last year’s award recipient, Cindy Klingberg, before giving his acceptance speech.

After graduating from UA, Landis spent 20 years with global management consulting company Accenture before becoming the president and CEO of Arizona-based biotechnology company Global Organics Group.

“To be recognized by the SIE department as its 2018 Alumni of the Year is an honor,” Landis said. “The department’s faculty and leadership, and up through the College of Engineering, continue to impress and remind me of the impact UA has had on my professional career. “

He is currently the chief growth officer for Accumen, a hospital-based laboratory-transformation startup, where he serves on the executive leadership team and works with health care system leaders to respond to the changing dynamics of the industry.
