Alejandro Salado Wins INCOSE ‘Reviewer of the Year’ Award
The International Council on Systems Engineering selected Alejandro Salado, an associate professor in SIE, as the 2021 INCOSE Systems Engineering Journal Reviewer of the Year. The organization announced the award at its Hybrid International Symposium in June.
The award recognizes researchers who complete a high number of timely and high-quality peer reviews.
“Peer review plays an essential part in science,” said Salado, who also received the award in 2020. “I am honored to receive this award and grateful to my colleagues for trusting me with this important task.”
Salado has a demonstrated history of commitment to reviewing. The American Society of Mechanical Engineers named him a 2021 Reviewer of the Year for the Journal of Computing and Information Science and Engineering.
He has also been recognized for his own research. His paper "Value and benefits of model-based systems engineering (MBSE): Evidence from the literature" in the journal Systems Engineering was recognized as a top cited article, as well as the journal’s most read paper between December 2019 and December 2021.
