Invest in the Success of Students, Faculty and Programs

Now more than ever, support from alumni, friends and corporate partners is critical for ensuring continued excellence in the UA Department of Systems and Industrial Engineering. Generous contributions not only support student scholarships, but also they fund important programs and help the department attract and retain prominent faculty.

To make a donation to UA Systems and Industrial Engineering, visit the UA Foundation’s giving page, or see the College of Engineering’s giving options.

Donation Highlights

Giving Thanks

Elisa Duarte was a 2015 recipient of the Jack S. McDuff Scholarship, named for a 1951 graduate in metallurgical engineering and longtime supporter of the university. Duarte went on to intern at Raytheon, earn a master’s in management science and engineering at Stanford, and become an operations associate at Visa.

The UA College of Engineering has provided me endless resources and outlets to explore my passions and achieve my goals. I am very grateful to my professors, advisers and mentors, and to donors like Jack McDuff, who have helped me along the way.

Honoring a Memory

Edward Mackay, EM 2016, received, among other scholarships, the Aileen Primero Memorial Scholarship in 2015-2016. The scholarship was named for a UA senior in engineering management who died in 2007 at age 22. Mackay had the opportunity to meet Aileen’s parents, Edwin and Lani Primero, at the College’s scholarship reception.

Learning about her story, her unforgettable character and the countless people she touched has made me especially thankful and humbled to receive this scholarship.

Making Time for Friends

Industrial Engineering student Estefania Hurtado worked in multiple offices on campus, including the Office of Admissions, Student Union as a sandwich maker, and Summer Engineering Academy as a counselor. The W.E. & Lucille Barnum Scholarship she received during her junior year helped ensure she had plenty of time not only for her coursework but also for seeing friends and exploring Arizona.

Without my jobs and my W. E. & Lucille Barnum Scholarship, I would not have been able to do it all.
