Wu Takes Home HFES Best Paper Award

This October, at the Human Factors and Ergonomics Society’s 2018 International Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, SIE professor Sean Wu won the organization’s Best Paper award in the Human Performance Modeling Tech Group.
The award is only granted to one winner in this group per year, and Wu’s paper -- “Modeling the Effects of Warning Lead Time, Warning Reliability and Warning Style on Human Performance under Connected Vehicle Settings” -- was selected as the top entry out of the 17 accepted for the meeting.
“The content of this paper is mathematical modeling of different characteristics of warning messages on driver behavior under connected vehicles,” Wu said. “The model can be used by designers of connected vehicles systems to improve transportation safety for the general public.”
